About Galina

I am Washington state licensed (MA00023224) and nationally certified. I graduated from Brenneke School of Massage (now Cortiva Institute).

I am inspired by the uniqueness of each person's body and how they respond to different treatments. I believe that massage is beneficial for balancing the mind, body and spirit of every living thing. It is truly amazing how many things we don't know about our and other's bodies and how many discoveries and findings we come up with through massage.

I see massage principles being very similar to those of soft style and internal martial arts. Going with the flow, instead of forcing a technique, being aware of the surroundings as well as what is going on under your own hands, flowing and circular motions, and using minimum effort to achieve maximum effect.

I have studied martial arts for about 6 years, and hold 2nd degree black belts in Hapkido and Taekwondo, 1st degree in Aikido, and have been studying Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Kung for the same amount of time. I have been teaching Taekwondo since September 2004 and assisting in teaching other arts. That was made possible by the wonderful instructors from Enso Center for International Arts.

I believe that my martial arts practice and my massage practice greatly complement each other.
